Operator guide

Run Ralph with confidence

Ralph is a growth operator for Shopify stores — not another dashboard to babysit. This guide is organised by the jobs you do: connect, decide, ship, watch stock, run ads. Skip around freely.

First 15 minutes

  1. Sign in at app.mustberalph.com with Google.
  2. Connect Shopify — this is the spine. Catalogue, orders and customers start syncing.
  3. Open Home. You should see store health building as data lands (new stores take a short warm-up).
  4. Optional next: Meta Ads, Google (Shopping / Search Console / GA4), Klaviyo. Partial setups work.
  5. When the first morning brief appears, treat it as a prioritised queue — not spam.
Small shop? You don’t need every integration on day one. Shopify alone is enough to get value from stock, products and the brief. Add paid channels when you’re ready.

Approval model

Ralph drafts. You decide. Campaigns and material changes land in pending review until you approve. Chat-driven mutations ask for confirm. That is intentional — control is the product.

What this means in practice

  • You will never “wake up” to a surprise live campaign Ralph pushed alone.
  • Review queues are the source of truth for what can ship.
  • Autopilot, where enabled, only expands after trust rules you understand — not by default silence.
If something looks wrong: pause in the relevant surface (campaign review, ads console) before digging into settings. Prefer stop → inspect → resume.

Shopify

Shopify is required. Ralph syncs products, variants, inventory signals, orders and customers into your private store context. All intelligence and actions stay scoped to that store.

Tips

  • Use a staff account with access to products, orders and online store as needed.
  • After connect, give the first sync a few minutes on large catalogues.
  • Disconnect / reconnect from settings if tokens expire — Ralph will surface connection health.

Meta & Google ads

Connect Meta and Google to bring spend, structure and performance into the same brain as catalogue and stock. Surfaces include overview cockpits, inventory-style campaign lists and deep dives — always store-scoped.

ChannelWhat you unlock
Meta AdsPerformance, structure, creative signals, review workflows
Google Ads / ShoppingPaid search & shopping context with catalogue
Search ConsoleQuery and page demand for SEO / content decisions
GA4Session and conversion context on Home

Writes to ad platforms follow the same approval discipline as campaigns — no silent budget surprises.

Email & search

  • Klaviyo — email context in the campaign package and customer view.
  • Search / SEO — titles, schema and content opportunities tied to real catalogue demand where available.
  • Weather — demand context for outdoor / seasonal categories, scored with other detectors.

Home & morning brief

Home is mission control: pace, health, alerts and the brief. The morning brief is a prioritised digest of what happened overnight and what needs your attention — opportunities, risks, drafts.

How to use it

  1. Scan the brief top to bottom — order is intentional.
  2. Open items that need a decision; leave pure FYI for later.
  3. Jump from brief items into campaigns, stock or ads without losing context.

Voice

Talk to Ralph in merchant language: revenue, ROAS, stock cover, “what needs attention”. Voice is for speed, not for bypassing approval — write paths still confirm when they mutate the store or ads.

Good prompts

  • “How did we do yesterday?”
  • “What’s low on stock?”
  • “Show Meta performance this week.”
  • “Draft a campaign for the summer drop.”
Prefer concrete windows (“last 7 days”) over vague “recently”. Ralph answers with store truth, not invented stats.

Campaign pipeline

Ask Ralph to build a campaign package: pricing angles, copy, creatives, email and SEO pieces assembled for review. You approve before anything goes live.

  • Packages stay in pending review until you say go.
  • Edit pieces in the review surface rather than restarting from scratch when possible.
  • Calendar and opportunity context feed “what to run next” so you’re not inventing from a blank page.

Stock & items

Items is the catalogue command surface: health, margin, ads attribution, cover days and actions. Ralph watches velocity so paid traffic and promotions don’t hit empty shelves blind.

  • Filter to what needs action (low cover, dead stock, high return risk when available).
  • Open a product for the full story — not just a single metric.
  • Pair stock alerts with ads: pause or reallocate when cover collapses.

Opportunity scanner

Nightly detectors score weather, calendar, velocity and related signals. High-scoring opportunities surface on the brief and calendar — ready for campaign work, not buried in a log.

Customers

Customer intelligence profiles LTV, risk and cohorts from your real order history. Use it to prioritise retention and who deserves budget — not vanity segments.

One brain

The point of Ralph is correlation. Shopify inventory plus Meta spend plus Google demand plus email should not live in four heads. When something looks “off”, ask from Home or Voice with a time window — the answer should pull cross-channel context, not a single silo screenshot.

Safety & data

  • Isolation — each store is sandboxed. No cross-tenant leakage by design.
  • Tokens — platform credentials encrypted at rest.
  • Writes — gated by confirm / review for material changes.
  • LegalPrivacy, Terms, Data deletion.
